QUISAS saved ground while being hard pressed for the lead, was no match for the winner, but held the others safe. MARTHA MARTIN raced well to midstretch and weakened. .GLORYS CROWN faltered in the late stages. The others failed to enter contention. CONGO KING, under steadying restraint to the stretch, responded readily to assume command late in the stretch run, then was roused sharply to hold ENCHANTED EVE safe. The latter was outrun to the stretch and closed with determination. JEANNIE C. alternated in setting and pressing the pace and fought it out gamely through the stretch. HUNTSVILLE saved ground while dueling for supremacy and gave way late in the drive. ELEVEN MEN raced well in the late stages. DECAPOLIS held a favorable position, but lacked a response when urged. FAIR TRIAD lacked a response through the stretch. ALEXIS failed to seriously threaten. SPEEDY VAN flattened out after being in front along the backstretch. ROMANTYPE was never a factor. EQUIBIT quit. SATE saved ground while being rated in front and gave way in the final furlong. HARANGUE could not seriously menace while rallying from the outside. CENTIME raced forwardly from the outset, raced NAVY PAGE into defeat to attain command, then responded smartly to hold TRIBE safe. The latter broke in a tangle when his rider appeared unprepared, moved from the inside, but failed to seriously menace the winner. PLATAN was unable to enter serious contention. NAVY PAGE gave way after setting the pace and finished in a dead-heat with ISASMOOTH IE. The latter could not keep pace. The latter was always prominent while on the outside and fought it out gamely. DORADA, a trailer for more than a half mile, closed with good energy. TINSEL lacked a rally.
