Hard Toab After Third Victory at Fairmount Favored to Down Market Tip and Experimental in Handicap Event By C. A. LINDEMAN Staff Correspondent FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, HI., June 27. Hard Toab, owned by Robert Chudej and trained by Mrs. C. Wright, will head a small field of seven hard-hitting routers when he vies at a mile ana!" sixteenth in the Hotel Claridge Handicap, main attraction on tomorrow nights nine-race program. Hard Toab has been returned victorious in two of his three starts so far this meeting. In winning his last here he proved much the best over practically the same field he will meet tomorrow. The four-year-old son of Professor Lee will be packing topweight of 121 pounds in this test which is a six pound handicap over Market Tip, the only horse to take his measure at this meeting. Hard Toab carried 118 to Market Tips 115, as the winning margin was only a length and half the weights assigned these top flight route runners the Hotel Claridge Handicap should be one of the best contested races of the night. Market Tip will race with Ida C. as the Mrs. T. Pruett entry. It is a little doubtful at this time whether trainer Carl Blair will start Ida C. as she is more at home over the shorter distances- Market Tip has only made two starts so far during the first 13 days and was the winner over Hard Toab in his first start which was at a mile and sixteenth the same as tomorrow. In that winning effort the son of Market Wise was three lengths in front of HardToab at the finish going the route in 1:43 which equalled the track record set by Kosadus last fall. Market Tip will pick up five pounds off that winning event, carrying 115. Making his second start of the meeting will be Experimental from the stable of Rodine and Higdon. He finished third in his only start back of Hard Toab and Market Tip with 110 pounds upv, the same hewill pack tomorrow. Although he was beaten off three and one-half lengths in that encounter he should show decided improvement off his recent races at Hawthorne. In his last race at the Cicero track he finished second to Kay Doody in a route affair that was run in 1:45 over a track labeled good. Rounding out the field for the Hotel Claridge Handicap will be other top flight-routers such as Leo P. McL., who has been showing some very consistent efforts here this meeting, Card Sharp who finished third to Market Tip and Hard ToaVand also a winner by a three and one-half lengths margin over Milo and Boston Bull in a mile and one sixtenth affair, and Pinko owned by H. Hinds. Acting as co-feature on the Saturday night card will be the sixth event titled the Car-Lee Farm Purse, also at the mile and sixteenth. This event drew a field of eight three-year-olds and older horses that normally race around the ,500 claiming brackets. Those who will be seen in action will be Alabama Belle, North Shore, The-ontobeat, Wraggle-Taggle, Ima Duke, The Flier, Happy Jim and Boston Bull.
