Game Gene in Impressive Score at Monmouth Park MONMOUTH" PARK, Oceanport, N. J., June 27. The Do-Ra-Mi Stables Game Gene, a Florida-bred gelded son of Ariel Game, who won the Florida Breeders Stakes at Hialeah last winter, turned in a superlative effort to win the Hindoo Purse here today. Jimmy Breckons, who is one of the smartest-riding boys here, did not hurry Game Gene early and there was plenty left to wear down the leaders to score by a neck at the end of the five furlongs. His time over a. fast track was 1:00 and he paid .60 as the second choice. Jaclyn Stables Retrouve fairly sizzled during the early running, getting the quarter in :22, and while Sammy Boulmetis was "shooting ducks" rounding the turn, made the half in :46. She then began to stop, and was "doubling up" at the finish, although still two and a half lengths in front of Brookfield Farms Isasmoothie. The latter was heavily favored as an entry with Brookfields If I, butcould get no better than third. Game Gene was winning his third race in five starts, and looks now like a fairly good prospect to go in the Tyro and Sapling Stakes later during this meeting. The crowd numbered 8,977, small, but still maintaining the everyday trend of bettering the attendance of coinciding afternoons last year.
