GUARNERIUS was hard pressed while in front and faltered in the drive. WAR COLLEENS rally came too late to be effective. SCOTCH ADELE saved ground to no avail. RIPPLE AIR failed to seriously threaten. The latter, unhurried early, gained a clear lead nearing the end and faltered. RUCHE moved through along the inside to set the pace, then gave way in the late stages. He was disqualified because of his stablemates actions. MERRYMAKER seemed a . bit sore going postward. SHOEMAKER showed good speed and was disqualified for bearing out during the stretch run. The latter moved menacingly nearing the stretch,- drifted quite wide, then was getting to the winner when settled into stride. CARIDURO saved ground while setting the pace and held on well.
