Blum in Riding Bow JAMAICA, L. I.. N. Y., May 5.— Walter Blum, a 19-year-older who accepted his first mount in todays opener, is an alert lad hailing from the Flatbush section of Brooklyn who, after graduating from Irving Tilden High worked for M. F. Drinkhouse, k went with Hirsch Jacobs, by whom he has been employed for the last two years. None Hbf his folks has ever been in racing, but his W father is a member of the New York Times r delivery staff, who took the day off to wit- F ness Walters first ride in silks.
