Incentive for Gene Martin FORT MIAMI. Maumee. Ohio, May 5 — Little Gene Martin, who is the leading apprentice rider at the Fort Miami track, had an added incentive to urge him on today as his parents came on from St. Louis to see their son in action. Gene rode his first winner at opening day at this track and has been in the charmed circle eight times since, which is a fair record for a 17-year-old fledgling.
