LUCKEY PETE raced evenly and within I striking distance of the leaders to the stretch, established a good lead before reaching the sixteenth-mile post I and won with something left. FIRST HEIR, a sharp factor from the start, bore out badly entering the stretch, ■L closed willingly when straightened for the drive, but could not get to the winner. SHANE lacked early speed, I but finished strongly. AMAFOX went to the front early, set the pace to the last eighth mile, then weakened. GRACIOUS HEART, B outrun to the last three-eighths mile, saved ground during the stretch run but could not get to the winner, ■ although easily best of the others. BABY BATTLER, in close quarters entering the backstretch, raced well to ■ the final furlong, then faltered. DOCTORS DANDY was outrun. KASLICK disliked the sloppy track.
