Little Brown Jug to Reach Record High Value in 1954 DELAWARE, Ohio, May 5 UP .—Next years Little Brown Jug, the worlds richest race for three-year-old pacers, will be worth a record high of at least 0,000, H. C. Thomson, secretary of the meet, said today. Thomson said he based his estimate on a record April 15 payment of 00 on each of the 146 two-year-old hopefuls. Remaining fees include a 50 sustainer on January 1 and a 00 starting fee. The record purse was 6,280 in 1951. when Tar Heel won the race. The 1953 "Jug" will be worth about 0-000 and will be raced for on September 24. Forty-nine three-year-olds are paid for this years race.
