JOHNS EX was always formidable and responded gamely to outfinish DETECTIVE. The latter alternated in setting and pressing the pace and held on tenaciously. SATARTIA improved his position from the inside to loom a threat, then hung in the final drive. NICODEM held a favorable position but lacked sufficient response. MISS JUDEX caught tired horses after trailing. SURPRISING weakened. BLUE FEDORA was outrun, as was POES POEM. ASSISTANCE attained prominence on the turn when able to move between horses, wrested command when straightened for the drive and outfinished BOUNTIFUL MISS. The latter gave way after setting the pace DOTTY BYRNE raced extremeiy wide along the backstretch and was green while retaining prominence. LIBBY*S FIRST was slow to settle into stride. JACKLYN could not keep pace, nor could YELLOW FLY. LIGHT LEWIS failed to reach contention. NELL JAY was through early. SIR DUDE raced wide on the turn. MID ADMIRAL was outrun. PSYCHIC DREAM loomed a threat while moving through along the inside entering the stretch but was no match during the drive. FERN GOLD raced well to the stretch and tired. HEDDY B. weakened while racing on the outside. MAD MARIE could not keep up. NO DISGRACE was outrun. MARY AGNES trailed throughout. SKIP, allowed to settle into best stride, improved his position willingly after altering his course and outfinished BUCK N GEE while racing along the inside. BUCK N GEE set the pace under rating, was straightened after swerving to the inside slightly soon after entering the stretch, but was not good enough. He was disqualified for having crowded MR. SKIP into WHITE CLIFF in the early stretch and was officially placed fourth. ANNS LOVE held a favorable position, but lacked a response. WHITE CLIFF moved menacingly along the inside until crowded just after entering the stretch and was eliminated from further consideration. COVER OFF gave way badly. FAMOUS was always far back. SONIC saved ground while maintaining a narrow advantage but was no match when challenged by the winner. GLORIETTE wore down tired horses. POTPOURRI raced within striking distance of the swift pace, but had nothing in reserve . when roused. G. R. PETERSEN stopped to a walk after being involved in a duel for command for six furlongs. The latter was unable to retain the advantage after having been well rated in front. R0EDNA made up ground in the late stages. GALA MORN dueled for the lead and weakened.
