BEST FLEET, slow to reach best stride, was guided to the middle of the track for the drive and was along in the final stride to outgame WILL TRAVEL. The latter raced SOUR NOTE into defeat to take command at the furlong marker, then held on gamely in a sharp effort. OLD BAASKET gradually improved her position on the outside to gain a contending position when straightened for the stretch run and finished strongly. INDIAN FILE was outrun. SOUR NOTE gave way suddenly after a half mile. FIRE KING failed to stay. MY SHOEMAKER, forced to take up sharply when impeded next to the rail during the stretch run, failed to recover. BLEU FEATURE forged to the front when MISSION began to tire, faltered during the concluding strides and was unable to hold the winner. BROWN DALTON failed to make up appreciable ground. MISSION, much used early, had little left. THE SPANIEL came out for the drive, but was not good enough. LA CORREDORA I made a game bid when straightened for the drive, then faltered under pressure. AESTHETE displayed high I early speed, but failed to stay. SUFIE was outrun. STRUTTING HIGH outsprinted his rivals into the first turn to assume a clear early lead, responded to urging during the drive and maintained the advantage over MERMAN. The latter raced forwardly from the cutset while saving ground, failed to overtake the leader when roused, but easily bested the others.
