Arrange Special Match Rqce For Top Four in 500 Mile Test DETROIT, Mich., June 3 UP. Bill Vukovich, two-time winner of the 500-mile Indianapolis Speedway race, and his three hottest pursuers in last Mondays event-will tangle again June 16 in a special match race on the Chrysler Corporation new engineering proving grounds at Chelsea, Mich. Chrysler said the four top finishers of the 1954 Indianapolis classic will compete for cash awards, driving the same cars they drove Monday, as the feature of the dedication of the new proving grounds. The track, described by Chrysler as "the safest high-speed concrete oval in existence," is 4.7 miles long nearly twice as long as the Indianapolis brick and asphalt oval. Vukovich will drive car No. 14, the fuel injection special in which he won both the 1953 and 1954 Indianapolis events, setting a new record this year of 130.8 miles per hour. Driving against Vukovich June 16 will be Jimmy Bryan of Phoenix, Ariz., second-place finisher at Indianapolis; Jack Mc-Grath, Glendale, Calif., who finished third Monday, and Troy Ruttman, Salem,- Ind., fourth-place finisher. Chrysler said special AAA officials will start and time the proving grounds competition in which each car will run individually against the clock for a single -lap. The event will not be open to the public.
