1 I Geegee, Buttevant on Kent Scene Adds Considerable Interest to Stake Catspaw, War of Roses and Ordained Work at Delaware For 5,000 Saturday Race By PALMER HEAGERTY Staff Correspondent DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 3. The arrival of Brookfield Farms I Geegee and John Barry Ryans Buttevant, combined with satisfactory morning trials by Mrs. J. R. H. Thourons War of Roses, Llangollen Farms Ordained and Cornelius V. Whitneys Catspaw, have added considerable interest to Saturdays running of the 5,000-added Kent Stakes. This mile and one-sixteenth offering for three-year-olds will be having its seventeenth running as the week-end feature. I Geegee and Buttevant are welcome additions to the Kent line-up, each of them boasting impressive sophomore records, the former with an unbeaten three-race skein this season. Best recommendation for the Brookfield colt is a victory in one divisiion of Garden States Delaware Valley Stakes, while Buttevant, a two-time winner this season, boasts a bang-up second to Jet Action in Belmonts Withers Stakes. Catspaw in Five-Furlong Moye Catspaw turned in the best of the five-furlong moves credited to Kent prospects this morning, being timed in 1:01 flat while moving along in handy fashion. War of Roses, whose last appearance resulted in a smashing victory in Garden States Jersey Stakes, was timed only two-fifths of a second slower and was equally impressive. He is also a prospect for the Peter Pan at Belmont on the week end, but his impressive trial may encourage trainer Jim Ryan to start him over the local oval. Ordained, who was only breezing in his training this morning, was timed in 1-03. Along with the quintet mentioned in the preceding paragraphs, almost certain starters include Greentree Stables Palm Tree, who is already on the grounds following shipment from New York; Claiborne Farms Limelight, a winner during the early days of this meeting; Mrs. James V. Stewarts Rustic Billy, who won his last two outings in impressive fashion; Miss Ann Uhlars Tiercel, who downed Ladd in a local engagement; Mrs. Ada L. Rices Ring King, the Chesapeake winner, and the three Delaware-owned hopefuls, Christiana Stables Menemsha, Foxcatcher Farms Chevation, and Bohemia Stables Kopes Baby. Other lightly regarded prospects for the , test include Mrs. Henry A. Parr rn.s Staffordshire, Alfred Roberts Thither,. G. K. Murdochs World Series, Joseph Kap-lowitz Brass Ring, Circle M Farms War Doings, William G. Helis Jr.s Helioscope. Louis Lee Haggin n.s Homestake, and George R. Galbreaths Roman Mirage.
