Bruney Inducted Into Army COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 3 UP.. "Fearless" Fred, Bruney, Ohio State defensive halfback from 1949 to 1952 and a member of the San Francisco 49ers professional football team last season, today " was inducted into the Army at Fort Hayes. A native of Martins Ferry, Ohio, Bruney was sent immediately to Fort Knox, Ky., for basic training.
