Card Lincoln Feature for Claimers Well-MatchedField Of Sophomores Vie Conditions of Sprint Fit . Mimada, Bracero, .Sleepy Tigress for Top Efforts LINCOLN FIELDS, Crete, 111., June 3. Nine three-year-olds from the claiming ranks make up a well-matched field for the International Harvester Purse at six furlongs on Fridays program at Lincoln Fields. rThe race is conditioned for horses which have not won twice since April 25. However, several of those entered to start have won more than once this year, but the arbitrary date in the conditions leaves them eligible to compete. Some of the contenders already have been under colors at this meeting. William Hal Bishops black filly, Mimada; S. Segrettos gelding, Faithful Ring, and Mrs. M. B. Sigrettos Bracero each has two victories this year. Mimada and Faithful Ring have started at the meeting, as have M. Muroff s filly, Canary Island, and Sleepy Tigress, the latter owned by Joseph G. Kohout, president of the central division of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association. Bracero, a chestnut gelding bred in Texas by the Reynolds Cattle Company, being by Royal Answer out of Sweet Lucy, by Valted, broke his maiden as a two-year-old last season- and won twice this vpnr rm Vphrnarv O.Ci nrrJ TWfl.rp.Vi 93 With 115 pounds, Bracero is the topweight of the field and will have Kenneth Church as his rider. Bred at Huge King Ranch Mimada, also bred in Texas at the huge King Ranch, won the first race of her career at Bay Meadows last November. In seven starts this season she has won twice and placed twice. She came into Bishops hands via the claim box on the occasion of her latest win, which was at Sportsmans Park on April 28. She had previously won a race this year on March 9 at Oaklawn Park, scoring by seven lengths at the Hot Springs track. In her lateststart she finished fifth to Bobby Boo here at Lincoln Fields on Memorial Day. Sleepy Tigress also was unplaced in the Bobby Boo race, but the daughter of Tiger Euminides led all the way to win a seven-furlong race at Sportsmans Park on May 17. It was only the fourth start of her career. Faithful Rings two wins were at the New Orleans Fair Grounds last winter. The gelding was claimed by his present owner from his last winning race, in which he was a 6-to-5 favorite. Faithful Ring placed in three subsequent starts, all at Sportsmans Park. In his only start here he was unplaced behind Tulsa on May 25. Completing the field in this Friday race are Mrs. W. D. Bernhardts Be Loyal, T. M. Pruetts Ahsa Beauty, F. E. Harpers Fleet Dream, and W. C. Tacketts Miss Who, the latter an Illinois-bred who won two races at two last year, but has not won this season. Be Loyal, a filly by the Australian horse, Royal Gem n., out of Ethel Blume, broke his maiden on January 30; Fleet Dream, an Oklahoma-bred daughter of Gray Dream Fleet Raven, won on March 27. She did not race last year. Canary Island, by Papa Redbird Dear Mom, a winner of three races last year, was unplaced behind Pondering in her only start this year, which was at this track on May 25.
