Burton Releases Weights For Discovery Handicap Lotus Eater Gets Top Impost In ThistleDown Sprint Saturday THISTLEDOWN, Warrehsville, .Ohio, June 3. Racing secretary and handicap-per Freddy Burton today released weights for Saturdays featured Discovery Handicap to be contested at five and one-half furlongs for a ,500 purse. Seventeen horses have been nominated for the event, which shapes up as one of the most interesting speed tests ever run here. Top weighted is Maurice "Buddy" Ham-ars Lotus Eater, an invader from Pimlico. Burton has assigned 120 pounds to the four-year-old gelded son of Devil Diver. Ballydam is next in line with 117 and then comes Mrs. Gladys H. Fishbacks Columcille, who ran the fastest six furlongs here last season, a sizzling 1:10. Columcille is weighted at 115 pounds. Another horse that rates very high in "Burtons book is Marshal at Arms, who won here on opening day. That was his first victory in this country, but the Irish import won abroad last year.
