Lester Piggott", Never Say Dies Jockey, From Riding Family LONDON, England, June 3. Lester Pig-gott, the 18-year-old British boy who rode the American-owned Never Say Die to victory in the Epsom Derby yesterday, belongs to a family of successful jockeys. His father, Keith Piggott, now a successful trainer, rode more than 100 steeplechase winners. His mother twice won the Newmarket Town Plate, the only race in Britain open to women riders. His grandfather won the famed Grand National steeplechase three times and his greatgrandfather, Tom Cannon, was one of the top jockeys of the late Nineteenth Century, riding more than 1,800 winners. Young Lester has ridden 300 winners.
