Larry Ellis Named For Lincoln Stake New Englander Joins Find, Wise Margin, Spinning Top, Hasseyampa on Stake List LINCOLN FIELDS, Crete, 111., June 10. When the last subscriptions arrive by late mails, it probably will be found that more than 40 horses have been nominated for the 0,000 mile and one-sixteenth Lincoln Handicap, racing secretary Larry Bogen-schutz indicated today. In addition to A. G. Vanderbilts Find, Samuel Tuffanos Wise Margin, and other high ranking handicap horses whose nominations became known earlier, a new batch of subscriptions came in early today. These included J. M. Lingles Larry Ellis, John S. Phipps Spinning Top, Eugene Constantin Jr.s Royal Bay Gem, Mrs. Ada L. Rices Mr. Paradise, Walmac Farms Hasseyampa, Adams Off Ox and Vagabond King; Howard Wells King, Sam E. Wilsons Gushing Oil, Mrs. H. L. Nathensons Guy and Force of Arms, and Emerald Hill Stables Blue Dare. Five-Out-of-Seven Record Larry Ellis is a strong addition to the list of Lincoln Handicap candidates. The six-year-old gelding by Easy Mon, out of the Man o War mare, War Cloth, is hailed as a champion of sorts in his own New England bailiwick. He won five of his seven . starts since late April, six of those races being at Suffolk Downs. On two of those occasions he beat Wise Margin, and once beat the latters stablemate, Rush Prince, who is also a Lincoln Handicap nominee. However, in the 0,000 Massachusetts Handicap at a mile and a quarter, Larry Ellis, who gave the winner two pounds, finished fourth behind Wise Margin, Find, and Royal Vale. Larry Ellis races in the name of Mr. and Mrs. Lirigle, who reside in North Providence, R. I. Besides winning two races last year, the Lingle gelding placed 10 times, seven of which were in stakes. Royal Bay Gems two victories so far this season included the Laurel Handicap at the Lincoln distance, a mile and one-sixteenth. As one of the top flight three-year-olds of last season when the shadow of Native Dancer did not fall across their paths, Constantins black colt won eight races, five of which were stakes, including Lincoln Fields "Peabody Memorial. Phipps filly, Spinning top, won the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes last year, and only yesterday finished second to Sunshine Nell in the Top Flight at Belmont. "The three-year-old division is represented on the Lincoln subscription list by such distinguished names as those of Hasty Road, Sea O Erin, and Hasseyampa.
