Flash Positions on Odds Board RIVER DOWNS, California, Ohio, June 10. For the first time at River Downs the positions of the first fouf hourses in each race are flashed on the infield odds board during the running of the race. Inaugurated as an aid to the patrons in following the events, the first four horses at each call made by announcer Gene Schmitt are picked up by former patrol judge, Orene Hampton and transmitted through the use of an electric console to the infield board. The postings are continued until the final sixteenth mile of any given event.
