WHIRLING BLUES, away sluggishly and outrun to the st three-eighths, was kept to the outside for the stretch run and, closing strongly, wore down the leaders to in going away. RED SULTAN, never far back, went to the front during the drive but was unable to hold the p one. ETERNAL FROLIC, away fast, dropped far back soon after the start, bore to the outside entering the retch-, then swerved repeatedly during the drive and could not threaten the leaders. HIGH AUTHORITY took i early lead, set the pace until inside the stretch, then gave way when -challenged by RED SULTAN. MOTOR :RAPER tired after racing well to the stretch. ADMIRALSCRIPT began slowly but finished fast. FRABOTTA failed to respond when set down through the stretch. SMOOTH PALM was never dangerous. PECKS REWARD had no excuse. TOUCHDOWN was through early. PAMPAS BEAUTY, never far back, finished willingly under strong handling but was unable to reach the winner, although much the best of the others. SPEED 0 LIGHT lacked early speed. MAD. HARE could not keep up and raced wide during the last three-eighths mile. BLACK BANTAM tired after racing well to the stretch. BEE ARR showed nothing. STRATO, never far back and well ridden, was sent to the middle of the track for the stretch run and, taking command during the drive, held FERTILE LANDS safe. The latter saved ground while outrun, to the stretch, was next to the inner rail for the drive and closed strongly but could not overtake the winner. STEAMBOAT BILL, a sharp factor throughout, reached the lead between calls approaching the stretch but faltered during the drive. ENGAGE ME lacked early foot and was never dangerous. LILS GADGET went to the front early, set the pace for three-quarters mile but had nothing left for the drive. GREY GRANITE disliked the slow track and raced wide the entire trip. CHINKAPIN made a bold bid when sent to the inside leaving the upper turn, stumbled after entering the stretch and fell.
