IRON HEEL was lightly pressed to preserve a clear lead through the opening five furlongs, easily drew but from the field thereafter and, after losing distance racing wide into the stretch, was being pulled up in the last sixteenth. SWIVET was urged forward down the back, stretch and appeared mildly threatening, but was no match for the winner thereafter. SEA TALE, sluggish early, closed well for his placing. MONTAGNAIS was forced back when SWIVET came in slightly at the break, made a mildly impressive run entering the stretch, but was tiring at the end. MARIA MAGDA tired badly, but was allowed to run the distance. SECOND BARREL began well, but was pulled up suffering from a hemorrhage.
