JUDGE JOE G. moved to catch ROYAL RUSH after entering the stretch, and then shook off JETTS KISS but was all out at the finish to hold ATTRACT. The latter was outrun to the stretch, then improved her position, and coming to the inside in the last eighth, closed with good courage. JETTS KISS faltered after making a fair bid in the stretch. PAST ECLIPSE went steadily. MISS J. was on the outside all the way. ROYAL RUSH tired badly in the stretch. ROYAL REWARD was badly outrun and pulled up lame. SLICK KNIGHT had speed from the start and, following the pace closely to the stretch, came strongly to wrest the leadership from TEXAS FLASH at midstretch and draw out thereafter. RIOT lacked early speed and lost considerable ground coming to the outside on the stretch turn, but improved his position in the run home and was going well at the finish. RUSTY LYN was outpaced for a half mile, then made up ground. TEXAS FLASH raced NOME into defeat, then tired in the last furlong. 0 KAYS SON, badly outrun early, was going well at the end. SIXTY TWO went to the front at once from the inside position, and shaking off A TOUTE FORCE after entering the final furlong, pulled away from the latter thereafter and won under ordinary hand riding. A TOUTE FORCE showed fine early speed while racing on the outside and easily held second place. IN PRODUCTION raced evenly and close up in a good effort. FULLOPEP was unable to keep up, although saving ground most of the way. HY-PATCH raced wide. GRAND PAPPY weakened in the stretch. The others were outpaced. RIDGEFLEET was well up in the early running and, gaining on VORHEES ARAB after entering the stretch, passed him in the final sixteenth to win drawing out under mild urging. VORHEES ARAB dashed to the front early and cut out a good pace, but was unable to last and was all out to save second place. LOCAL CORNER was Jn close quarters around the far turn and was taken up, then came again on the outside in the stretch and was going strongly at the finish. STAR DIVER weakened in the stretch. OUR LOVE saved ground entering the stretch, but faltered after making a mild move. IN CLOVER trailed the field until after rounding the far turn, then moved up slowly and, coming to the outside in the stretch, closed strongly under hard urging to best FIRST REFUSAL narrowly. The latter raced close to the pace and on the outside of COUNT ALEX and, finishing with good courage, just missed. COUNT ALEX set the pace and saved ground in the stretch to display a good brand of courage in the final drive. SET SHOT saved ground on the stretch turn, but lacked the power to catch the leaders and weakened near the end. SILVER K and BLUE AWARD had speed to the stretch, then weakened. THE EAGLE trailed the field for over half the distance but was under restraint and, moving with determination around the stretch turn, headed the field after entering the stretch to increase his margin under hand riding near the end. FORCE OF ARMS was always a good contender and vas up to be second in the closing strides. GUSHING OIL made a good run on the outside nearing the stretch turn, appeared to be bothered slightly when headed by THE EAGLE, but continued well in a good effort. KORITZA had the most early speed and drew out nearing the stretch turn after having raced ADAMS OFF OX into defeat, but weakened in the final drive. ADAMS OFF OX tired badly. FLYING PAT was never too far removed and gaining gradually on the outside of RED SPEED after entering the stretch, wore him down to best him under hard urging. RED SPEED sprinted to the front early and soon shaking off VIDI widened nearing the stretch turn, then saved ground and raced well to the end. SULMARI was rather slow to get into stride, but vent fairly well thereafter. CHEROKEE PILOT raced wide on the stretch turn, but finished with good courage. VIDI tired badly in the final furlong. Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. FAYS REAPER broke quickly but soon dropped back to last place, although not too far from the leaders, then moved up strongly on the outside nearing the stretch turn to take a short lead over CODED MESSAGE in the last eighth and hold him narrowly in a hard drive. CODED MESSAGE moved up between horses nearing the last turn, cut to the inside in the stretch and held on tenaciously. GOLDEN KING dropped back when in tight quarters on the stretch turn, but continuedwell. BLACK WIDOW was always a fairly good contender. LOT-A-FILLY and BILL PAC were used up making the pace.
