Imp Handicap Attracts Total of 31 Nominations Mad HareWolf Gal, Pinelet In ThistleDown June 26 Stake THISTLEDOWN, North Randall, Ohio, June 15. The ThistleDown Jockey Club today released the list of nominations for the Imp Handicap, a ,000 added stakes which will be run here Saturday, June 26. A total of 31 fillies and mares, three years old and upward, have been made eligible for this six-furlong speed test. Last year the Imp was run over a mile and one-sixteenth. G. Y. Bookers consistent Mad Hare won the Imp inaugural and established a still standing track record of 1:43. The daughter of Hairan, who also placed in the Suwannee Handicap at Gulf- I stream is again among the nominees for the j local feature. The most prominent of the other candi- dates is Clevelander M. R. Hamars three- j year-old filly Wolf Gal, who captured the j Florida Breeders Stakes and the Hialeah Juvenile last year. Also listed both as nominees and as probable starters are Mrs. Mary Hunters Pinelet, victor in the Miss Cleveland and second in the 53 Susan Stakes; Mrs. Betty Lou McCumbers Mor-Snoozey, who took the Labor Hay Handicap at Wheeling, and Smith and Steeles Mestiza, winner of last seasons Scarlet Carnation at Randall Park. Certain to command local support, if she goes postward in the Imp, is Best Air owned by Mrs. Lena Fry of Delaware, Ohio. The five-year-old mare ran a sparkling race on Saturday to whip colts in the ,000 Moses Cleaveland Handicp. The nominations follow: Best Air Mestiza Betsy T.
