HBPA Presents Leavitt With Silver Tea Service DETROIT RACE COURSE, Livonia, Mich., June 15. Robert G. Leavitt, general manager of the Detroit Race Course, is the owner of a new sterling tea service, the gift of the Michigan division of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association. , Leavitt and Mrs. Leavitt received the gift during a HBPA dinner in the clubhouse of the Detroit Race Course Saturday. "The gift is a gesture to show our appreciation for his extremely cooperative attitude toward horsemen," said Dr. Harry W. Lindy, Michigan division president. I Irving Gushen, national HBPA president, and Robert O. Read, HBPA chairman made brief remarks at the dinner. Gushc revealed that lindy had been offered position in the national HBPA office bi had declined it "because my work isc done in Michigan."
