TOCSIN quickly raced into a clear lead, was intermittently hustled throughout and responded well to be decisively best. FLARESPUR saved ground racing behind the top pair and closed well to catch TRAJAN. The latter appeared dangerous on the turn, but drifted out and tired. PAVION could not reach the top ones, but gave a good effort. ROYAL BRIAR lacked early speed. CHARMING HOST faltered. TREAD ALONE raced wide. BUNNYS BOY broke slowly and could not untrack himself. ROLLICKING LAD shook off LIBERTY RAB and opened a clear lead entering the far turn, saved all possible ground and held on tenaciously at the end to outfinish WARMED OVER. The latter, steadied after a good start, was urged into closest attendance on the turn, then, after racing slightly wide into the stretch, closed determinedly. STAR Z: was a sharp factor into the stretch and hung. IF I had no excuse. MONACOAN was in close quarters and was eased back on the far turn. GREAT MOGUL could not keep up. LIBERTY RAB quit.
