GOLD QUEST, sluggish in the early stages, moved up after three furlongs, was between horses to split the leaders and assumed command in the stretch and drew out. OUR JO worked her way up on the extreme outside, closing with good energy. WILL TRAVEL was close to the leaders under light restraint, saved ground, but was not good enough. AUNT TEENIE improved her position steadily. MARGARET H. passed tiring horses. WALTER A YOKEL broke alertly, remained close to the pace for a half mile and retired. PAULA M. had no mishap. SLIPSTICK showed speed for five furlongs and quit. FUSBY was unable to keep up. STURDY SAPLING had speed for a half mile and weakened. LADY CUANTA was never prominent. The latter, in hand and within striking distance of the leader, rallied in the late stages and was pressing the leader. STEPPING MERRY showed speed while forcing the pace, gained command and weakened. TAKE HIM OUT went evenly. LITTLE RACER worekd her way up oh the inside but lacked a late rally. ALGASIR broke alertly, was in a forward position, moved boldly along the inside to take command straightening for the drive and withstood a mild challenge from NOCH EINS. The latter reserved within striking distance of the pace, came in along the inside through the stretch, responded to stout urging but was not good enough. CHARLESTON rallied in the final guarter mile, closing ground with a belated rush. FERRO FOX was under early pressure to go along with THOMAS PEPPER raced that one into submission and had nothing left.
