Ohio Derby Draws ] Nominations of 63 Hasty Road, Correlation, ! Sea 0 Erin, Errard King in ThistleDown July 10 Stake THISTLEDOWN, North Randall, Ohio, June 21. --The twentieth running of the 5,000 added Ohio Derby to be run here at ThistleDown on the afternoon of Saturday, July 10, has attracted a nomination list of 63 of the leading three-year-olds in the country. The Ohio Derby was revived in 1952 by managing director Louis Pondf ield and was run that year at Cranwood Park. Last season the Derby was moved here to ThistleDown and in a sensational race Alfred G. Vanderbilts Find turned back Buck n Gee by two lengths, running the mile and a furlong in 1:48 which was the fastest time run at any track in the United States last season for that distance. This years renewal is headed by the nominations of the Hasty House Farms Hasty Road, winner of the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico and Robert S. Lytles Correlation who won the Florida Derby and the Wood Memorial as his major accomplishments thus far in 1954. Sea O Erin Peabody Winner The Hasty House farm which is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Allie E. Reuben of Toledo, Ohio, has also nominated Sea O Erin and Seppie for the Ohio Derby. Sea.O Erin won the Peabody Memorial at Lincoln Fields on May 31 and earlier in the year captured the Fountain of Youth Stakes at Gulfstream Park. Last Saturday, Sea O Erin was responsible for the early pace in the 0,000 Lincoln Handicap at Lincoln Fields. Joe Gavegnano has nominated Errard King, winner of last years Pimlico Futurity. Errard King was regarded as ore of the leading candidates for the "Triple Crown" events this spring when he went bad and was unable to fulfill those engagements. Errard King also won the Tyro Stakes, Longport Handicap, and the Worlds Playground Stakes last season. His earnings for the year were ,700. Another leading nominee is Mrs. John Payson Adams Swift Sword, a son of Blenheim IE; — Bell Song, who was purchased during the winter by Mrs. Adams for 5,000 from the Chait dispersal sale at Hialeah Park. Swift Swords best race of last year was a victory in the DeSoto Handicap at Tropical Park. Other prominent horses nominated for the race are Admiral Porter, Bobby Bro-cato, King Maple, Ring King, and Timely Tip.
