4 High Gun Turns In Fast Dwyer Trial Several Edgemere Nominees And Distaff Handicap Hopes Also Work for Engagements AQUEDUCT, L. I., N. Y., June 21.— King Ranchs High Gun, winner of the Belmont Stakes and the Peter Pan in his previous two engagements, took to the Belmont main strip Sunday morning and reeled off an impressive six furlongs in 1:13%. The sturdy son of Heliopolis and Rocket Gun, who most likely will make his next start in the rich Dwyer Stakes July 3, was accompanied in his trial by John S. Phipps Level Lea. The latter was timed his six panels in 1 : 14 while under steadying restraint. Level Leas work gave every indication that he would return to actual competition in the near future. Invigorator Goes Mile Several of the more prominent contenders for the Edgemere Handicap to be decided here Saturday received drills in preparation for the 5,000 added mile and a furlong event. The Saxon Stables Invigorator was called upon for a mile trial, which he completed over the Belmont training track in 1:42. He stepped the half i mile in :502/5 and the six panels in 1:16. Mrs. H. P. Christiansens Mandingo and the Brookmeade Stables County Clare, ■ visited the training strip and breezed six" and three furlongs, respectively. Mandingo ! was timed in 1:18%. County Clare was caught in :37%. The Valley View Farms1 | Impasse toured six furlongs of the Aque- I j duct strip in 1:15. Golden Gloves, repre- J sentative of the Belair Stud unit, stepped a ! similar distance in 1:15%, breezing. I Foremost attraction for fillies and mares to be decided within the next six racing, days is the Distaff Handicap, which is t6*| have its initial running Monday. Four of j the more highly regarded eligibles for the | seven-furlong sprint were seen in action , over the week end. Meyer J. Kaplans Sun-shine Nell, who probably will be shipped to Delaware for the New Castle following her contemplated engagement in the Distaff, was sent a mile. The six-year-old" daughter of Sun Again — Nellie Flag was merely breezing while negotiating the assignment in 1:43%. C. V. Whitneys Ming Yellow, Spinning Top, owned by John S. Phipps, and Mrs. B. F. Whitakers Grecian Queen, last years three-year-old filly champion, all were in action over the Belmont training track. Ming Yellow breezed a half mile in :52 flat. Spinning Top went a like distance in :48 handily and Grecian Queen accomplished a three-furlong stint in :36 without undue effort.
