Fourth in Row Is Goal of Big Ox Faces Nine Other Seasoned Sprinters in Blenheim; Up Purses of Four Omaha Races By J. R. BATTY - Staff Correspondent AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Nebr., June 21. — Dave Mays Big Ox, who backed up a string of three straight victories during the first five days of this meetingr will go post-ward in quest of his fourth winning purse when facing nine other seasoned speedsters in the Blenheim Purse here on Tuesday. Big Ox will attempt to regain winning form competing at six furlongs in this featured race on a ladies day card. The main attraction is an allowance test and offers a purse of ,575 which was increased in value more than 00 over its originally scheduled worth. General man ager Jake Isaacson this morning instructed Dick Leigh, director of racing here, to up three other purses in value among the eight races posted. Purse distribution had already been substantially increased in the third and final book of conditions, which went into effect with Tuesdays card, over the daily sum announced when this meeting began on May 20. Big Oxs opponents in this dash are Heller, Nevada John, Babys Delight, Kind Reception, Little Bad, Open Heir, March Lark, Mr. Favor and Nymphs Pride. After succeeding three times in a row and on each occasion elevated in company, Big Ox was defeated by Hiram Jr. when over-ambitiously placed in an overnight handicap. The six-year-old gelded son of Ox Blood — Miss Courtesy was close to the pace in the stretch and faltered thereafter, ending up third to Hiram Jr. and Roman Secret. Next time out he showed a dislike for wet underfooting and- contributed additionally by running wide to be sixth by a long margin to Open Heir. Last Wednesday the May colorbearer ended up fourth to Roman Secret, missing the place back of Open Heir by a nose and head margins.
