Middendorfs Visit Blue Grass In Company of Humphrey Finney LEXINGTON, Ky., June 2L— While en route to the West Coast for the Fasig-Tipton sale at Pomona Monday, Humphrey Finney stopped off in the Blue Grass to inspect a few yearlings. He was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Harry S. Middendorf of South Hamilton, Mass., who are embarking on their first venture in the thoroughbred business. It was the Middendorfs first visit to Central Kentucky, although they have been racing enthusiasts for a number of years. The Middendorfs recently purchased, through the British Bloodstock Agency, the mare Rosina, a daughter of Chumleigh and a sister of Dante and Sayajirao. She is in foal to Arctic Prince and has a Hyperion colt at her side. They also bought Mom, a daughter of Mahmoud in foal to Count Fleet, from Mr. and Mrs. John D. Hertz. Also from Mr. and Mrs. Hertz they obtained a colt by Solidarity and County Delights sister. Mother-in -Law. The Middendorfs plan to raise their thoroughbreds on their farm in Massa-; chusetts.
