PULSATOR raced within easy striking distance of the pace, wore down HERB S. and held LONELY MAID safe in the drive. The latter improved her position steadily and was getting to the winner. BEAUTY MISS closed fastest of all after being slow to respond. TENNESSEE BOY had speed in spots. HERB S. raced PINCH-HIT into defeat to attain command at the furlong pole, then weakened. MILADY MOWLEE lacked a" closing surge. GOTTABEGOOD gave way gradually. PINCH-HIT flattened out badly after being in front for a half mile. NORTHERLEA, WHO HAD REARED UP AND STRUCK HER HEAD WHILE BEING SADDLED IN THE PADDOCK, FELL TO THE GROUND IN HER STARTING POSITION WHILE HEMORRHAGING AND SUCCUMBED. HER WITHDRAWAL NECESSITATED NO REFUND, AS SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE MUTUEL FIELD. DEVILS DELIGHT raced in close attendance to the pace without being hurried, wrested command and rapidly drew clear, then went out seven furlongs in 1:25%. RIANT, in front early and steadied when displaced, responded when urged but was no match for the winner. SMALL FAVOR failed to make up ground in the drive and went out a mile in 1:39%. ANOTHER WORLD was outrun. DEL TEX MAID moved through along the inside to attain command approaching the half mile pole, saved ground on the turn and faltered. EFFERVESCENCE could not keep pace. ROYAL VALE, a trailer into the stretch, was taken up sharply when unable to drive between horses, moved to the extreme outside and displayed a burst of late speed which enabled him to wear down the leaders. PENOCC raced MAABROOK into defeat just inside the furlong pole, but was no match. POST CARDS rally was insufficient. MAABROOK was hard pressed for the lead and faltered. WAR KING could not keep pace.
