PLACE KICK steadily improved his position to gain closer contention leaving the final turn, continued in the middle of the track to take command when ready inside the stretch and briskly drew clear. SAGACITY, forwardly placed from the start, was unable to cope with the winner when hard ridden through the late .stages. MISS JULIE held a slight lead when settled for the stretch run, but weakened when subjected to stern punishment. REAPING HERO moved up boldly along the inner rail o.,.afta.inr.ande,.,nner".uP Position at the furlong marker, then tired. PETITE CHERI was unable to keep up. BULL LEADER, much used early, had little left KNOW THYSELF failed to stay ODDAH, fractious at the post, never was dangerous during the running. PLATTERPUSS, under slight restraint during the early running, came fast when shaken for the stretch run and, after taking command, won going away G ALLIES PRIDE moved up boldly on the outside to gain the lead before going a half mile, held sway to the stretch under steady rating, then faltered when set down for the ultimate test. RADIANT LADY failed to make up appreciable ground during the late stages. GLORIOUS EMMA closed a gap. ANNAMAE L., fractious at the post, raced forwardly placed to the stretch, then weakened. THE PROFF, allowed to settle into best stridey took command with a rush when ready on the final turn and continued on gamely thereafter when subjected to intermittent pressure. ONEIDA trailed his field during the early running after starting tardily, was sent into closer contention on the far turn, was unable to overtake the leader when briskly ridden through the late stages, but closed with good energy to easily prevail over the others. ANACOSTIA alternated in setting and pressing the early pace, then faltered when the real test came. MIELAISON raced ANACOSTIA into defeat to retain a slight advantage on the far turn, then weakened. LEVEE, away fastest, made the pace to the stretch under steady .rating and increased her advantage thereafter winning as if much the best PALACE DANCER raced within striking distance of the leader to the stretch, but was unable to endanger the latter when the real test came. P0L0RI0T, a sharp factor during the early running, failed to respond when called upon for her best effort. MANIHIKI, away in the first flight, ducked out sharply at the head of the stretch and failed to regain best stride. BOLERO JANE, much used early, had little left. B0LETTE lacked speed. GLAMOUR and MY AFFINITY never were formidable. OMELET SOUFFLE, forced to take up sharply when in close quarters leaving the final turn, was unable to recover. DIZZY LADY began sluggishly. INDIAN LAND, unhurried when outrun early, came out to the middle of the track to take command when ready inside the furlong marker and, though lugging in slightly, drew clear while in hand. The winner returned to the unsaddling area slightly cut on the left front ankle. WILEU, shuffled back slightly on the far turn, recovered readily and, though unable to cope with the winner during the stretch run, closed with good courage to outgame PIQUANETTE. The latter, away fastest, was taken back from the early- pace; then closed with a belated burst of speed when set down for the stretch run. SEEBIT gave way suddenly inside the stretch. COUNT BREEZE was unable to attain the lead and tired. SUPERUPPER raced forwardly to the furlong marker, then faded. COMEAWAY retired steadily after flashing brief speed. ELR0SE never was prominent. TWO STARS stepped to the front immediately after the start, held sway to the stretch under steadying restraint and retained a clear advantage thereafter, winning in clever fashion. MISTY MORN, slow to attain best stride, was forced to come to the complete outside leaving the final turn and, after gaining the.runner-up position nearing the furlong marker, was unable to overtake the leader when subjected to brisk pressure. SORCERESS, forced to take- up slightly when in close quarters along the rail nearing the three-furiong marker, continued on the inside for the drive, but was not good enough. MANOTICK, much used early, had little left. BROWN WARBLER was unable to attain the lead and tired.
