Honor Greyhound and Owner Colonel Baker at Sportsmans - SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., June 17. Greyhound, the gallant old "Elder- Statesman" of the trotting races will not be denied his, birthday party. Sportsmans Park harness officials announced July 7 as the new date for the affair after it was rained out twice last week. -The great grey will be celebrating his 22nd birthday, equivalent to about 88 years for human beings, at the gala affair. Holder of the World record of 1:55 for the mile, Greyhounds mark has stood the test of time since 1938. But more impressive is the fact that the feat was accomplished in the days before mobile starting gates, and expensive equipment to keep race tracks in lightning fast condition. Col. E. J. Baker, squire of Baker Acres of St. Charles, 111., and owner of the famous trotter, will also be honored at the festive celebration. More than 3,000 friends and neighbors of the fabulous heir to the "Bet A Million Gates" fortune will be on hand to cheer both champion and owner.
