Shoemaker Returns to Saddle As Hollywood Suspension Ends HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., June 17. Jockey Willie Shoemaker returns to the saddle Saturday after having served the most expensive five-day suspension of his career. He was set down for a careless ride aboard Silverado last week and the suspension cost him the mount last Saturday on Swaps who won the 00,000 Cali-fornian in worlds record time of 1:40 for a mile and a sixteenth. Shoemaker has seven mounts Saturday including the one on Abe Hirschbergs Berseem, the probable favorite for the 5,000 Lakes and Flowers Handicap at seven furlongs.
