EVEN U. drew off from the field entering the backstretch, maintained the margin while racing slightly off the rail the remainder of the trip and, under stern punishment,, extended the margin slightly in the final run while still drifting out. KARAMU, never ttfb far back, had no late response and withstood SHEEPSKIN. The latter, sluggish early, moved along the inside, had to take a weaving course in the stretch and finished willingly. MAMMY PLEASANT made a bid to reach the leader leaving the far turn, then weakened thereafter. QUARTER-MASTER loomed a threat from the outside into the stretch but could not threaten. MYTHICAL LAND drew off before a half mile and; saving ground, could not hold off the winner. LARK GLO, within striking distance from the start, had no solid response in the drive. A TOUTE FORCE was tiring near the finish. COUNTRY GOSSIP was going willingly along the inside when too late. TEDS BULL found best stride when too late. TOP-LATION flattened out in the stretch .run. MIKE BARRY, badly outrun early, closed with a belated rush and was going fastest of all at the finish. HARLOU could not seriously threaten. DUSKY PAM, forwardly placed outside the leader, moved strongly into the stretch to assume comamnd and, in a long drive, outfinished REQUITAL. The latter, hemmed in along the inside down the backstretch, was eased back and, coming to the extreme outside into the stretch, engaged the winner but could not wear her down. TAKE THE-PRIZE only rallied to outfinish the others. COUNT SICKLE raced along the hedge while setting the pace, drifted out into the stretch when challenged by the winner and faltered. NATURAL REWARD moved along the inside to reach close contention going to the far turn, then flattened out. Overweight Little Takers, 1 pound. Requital claimed by Mrs. A. Gorga, trainer J Gorga. The latter, Under light restraint when outran early, rallied into the stretch and closed with a sharp burst of speed in the late yards. PINE .ECHO opened , up a commanding lead under light restraint, fought it out with the winner until the last sixteenth, then weakened. EDWARD set the pace, under pressure from DAVIDS DREAM and weakened in the drive. P. 0. ANNEX saved ground throughout and finished evenly in the stretch run.
