TUCKAROE moved up fast on the outside going to the . uppen turn, took command approaching the stretch and drifted out but drew clear from GOLDEN CHARIOT while under brisk urging. GOLDEN CHARIOT raced evenly for a half mile, saved ground during the last three-eighths mile but could not stay with the winner. MERCHANTPRINCE, away sluggishly, gradually worked way forward after the initial quarter mile, made up ground when set down throug the stretch but was unable to reach the leaders. PLAY PILOT, in close quarters nearing the final turn, made a good bid when clear, then tired. ONCE A YEAR lacked early foot. GREEK KING had early speed but failed to stay. LE MEDELON, in tight quarters after the breakj failed to recover CABOCHON could not keep up. NEREUS raced well to the , stretch but had nothing left for the drive. "FATE OF WAR began slowly. PORTAGE BOY, away sluggishly and outrun to the stretch, was sent around horses for the drive and, closing strongly under punishment, disposed of MR. ANCHOR in the last seventy yards. MR. ANCHOR,, forwardly placed from the outset, reached the lead between calls during the stretch run but was unable to hold the winner. FLAME OUT moved up boldly on the outside at the final turn but could not get to the top pair when set down in the drive. GAY POLE lacked early foot but made up ground during the stretch run. VALCARIE lacked early foot and raced wide. NIGHT BELL went to the front early, set the pace until well inside the stretch, then weakened. JET SET could not keep up. ULTRA SMART, far back early, was never dangerous. GREEK DRAMA tired SEEBIT raced prominently, to the final furlong, then drifted out while tiring. JILLION BARELS pulled up lame. COURT PLANTING, forwardly placed from the start, closed strongly after brushing with PICNICKING but could ,not overtake the latter and just missed. LONGFORD gradually worked way forward and made a bold bid inside the last eighth mile, then faltered nearing the finish. JENORSE gave a good performance and had no mishap. LEALILL was unable to reach the leaders when hard urged through the stretch. DARK CIRCLES held on well to Hie last sixteenth mile, then weakened. WENDASY couid not keep up. MELANITA lacked early foot but closed fairly well under urging. EARLY BLOOM could not reach serious contention. PEKAME had early foot but failed to stay. TUDITIOUS, rank at the post, unsealed her rider and galloped off a slow quarter mile before the start, then showed nothincLin the running. Overweight Jenorse, 1 pound. MUEZZIN, in hand to the last three-eighths mile, was sent up on the outside of ANCHOR MAN for the stretch run, closed determinedly but could not reach the winner. A foul claim against ANCHOR MAN by MUEZZINS rider was not allowed by the stewards. BEAUS MAGIC, a sharp factor from the -start, was caught in close quarters nearing the furlong, pole and failed to rally when clear. ROUGH CONQUEST raced prominently to the last eighth mile, then weakened. RECEIPT raced forwardly placed until well inside the stretch, then gave way. KAPADOR had no excuse.
