Three Hollywood Park stakes to be run in June will be raised in value a total of 0,000, vice-president and general manager James D. Stewart announced Friday. The stakes to be increased are the one-mile Argonaut Handicap for three-year-olds and upward on Saturday, June 8, Jfrom 5,000 added to 0,000 added, the mile and one-sixteenth .El Dorado Handicap for three-year-olds on Saturday, June 15, from 5N000 to 5,000 added, and the mile and one-eighth Hollywood Oaks for three-year-old fillies on Tuesday, June 18, from 0,-000 to 5,000 added. The additional prize money increases Hollywood Parks stakes program of approximately ,165,000, which was already a worlds record for one race meeting, to a total of approximately ,205,000. Stewart announced that the additional purse money for horsemen, which will be reflected in the "overnight" racing program as well as in the stakes, has been made possible by increased attendance and mutuel handle over a comparable period last year.
