Late Arrival Alfred G. Vanderbilt inaugurated the 0,000 Pimlico Special in 1937, the nations first race in which horses were eligible by invitation only but it wasnt until 1955 that one of Vanderbilts own horses made it. Vanderbilts Social Outcast ran third to Sailor.
