WHIRLAHEAD was restrained off the pace to the final turn where he was sent up on the outside and, under pressure wore down COLONEL ZEDER. The latter had his speed, saved ground and held on stubbornly in a long drive. MISS MELODY found herbest stride too late. TASA loomed boldly in the early stretch but could not sustain-her move. REUNE lost all chance when shuffled back at the start, clipping another horses heels and stumbled badly. TOLD YOU SO broke sharply to the inside and lugged in badly through the initial sixteenth.
