Confer on Grand National Oval Special to Daily Racing Form LONDON, May 5 Reuters. — Mister R. A. Butler, British home secretary, has agreed to meet deputation from the Royal i Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to discuss their proposals for improving conditions of the Grand National Steeplechase course, it was announced today. The British League Against Cruel Sports also is trying to get the Grand National course made less dangerous. In this years Grand National run last March at Aintree, only four horses finished out of 34 starters; one jockey was injured and two horses were destroyed after falls.
