Stewards Rulings SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., May 6. — The stewards issued the following corrected ruling: "The suspension entered against apprentice jockey James Dotson on May 5 is corrected as follows: " Suspension begins on Wednesday, May 6, and terminates on Saturday, May 16, both dates inclusive. " "Apprentice jockey James Dotson is fined 0.00 for lodging a frivolous claim of foul after the running of the seventh race on Tuesday, May 5. "Jockey Kenneth Griffith is fined 0.00 for lodging a frivolous claim of foul after the running of the second race on Tuesday, May 5." • SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 6. — The stewards here today issued the following ruling: "Jockey Henry Wajda is suspended 10 racing days May 8th-May 19th inclusive for careless riding causing his mount Sunny R. to interfere with Panther Gap in tht stretch run in the Fifth Race, May 5th Sunny R. was disqualified and placed 2nd. "The official placing of the 5th race is as follows: 1st, Panther Gap; 2nd Sunny R.; 3rd Dek; 4th Zazu." CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 6. — The stewards issued the following rulings today: "Jockey F. A. Smith is suspended five days, May 8-May 12, inclusive, for careless riding in the eighth race, May 5, 1959. "Jockey Frank Adams is suspended five days, May 8-May 12, inclusive, for careless riding in the second race, May 5. 1959." GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. CAHOKIA DOWNS, East St. Louis, III., May 6. — The stewards here issued the following ruling: "On the report of the Chicago Biological Laboratory, Chicago, Illinois, Y. T. Oester, chief chemist, representing the Illinois Racing Board, the urine test on the horse Picapepper, winner of the second race Thursday night, April 30, 1959, disclosed the presence of a drug of the nature of amphetamine. Pursuant to paragraph 311, sub-paragraph E of the Rules and Regulations of Horse Racing of the Illinois Racing Board for the year 1958, as amended, trainer-owner Jean Brennan, and all horses owned or trained by him are hereby suspended and his care referred to the Illinois Racing Board for further action. "Further in conformity with paragraph 311, sub-paragraph E, groom, Richard Rinker, who attended the horse Picapepper prior to said race, is also suspended and denied the privileges of the grounds and his case referred to the Illinois Racing Board for further action. "Further in conformity with paragraph 311, sub-paragraph E and with paragraph 302; owner-trainer, Charlie D. Shine, acting as groom who attended the horse Picapepper prior to said race, is also suspended and denied the priveleges of the grounds and his case referred to the Illinois Racing Board for further action. "Further in conformity with paragraph 314 of the Rules and Regulations of the Illinois Racing Board for the year 1958, as amended the purse won by the horse Picapepper is hereby forfeited and shall be redistributed as follows: 1st, Careful Devil; 2nd, Curro Fizz; 3rd, Jasper B.; 4th, Fast Charger; 5th, La Priscilla. "The pari-mutuel betting on the race is in no way affected." TURF PARADISE, Phoenix, Ariz., May 6. — The stewards have issued the following ruling: "For violating rule 181 for revealing information regarding the claim of the horse Tom Harvey out of the fifth race Saturday, April 25, 1959, is declared null and void. The horse Tom Harvey is returned to his previous owner, C. M. Reynolds. "Jockey Elbert Mead Minchey is suspended ten calendar days for causing interference while astride Back Blast during the running of the sixth race Sunday, April 26, 1959. Jockey Elbert Mead Minchey will be eligible to accept mounts for May 7, 1959."
