Eight Geldings Have Won Derby LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 2.— Eight geldings have won the Kentucky Derby since its inception in 1875. They were: Vagrant, 1876; Apollo, 1882; Joe Cotton, 1885; Macbeth II., 1888; Old Rosebud, 1914; Exterminator, 1918; Paul Jones, 1920;with Clyde Van Dusen being the last one, in 1929. All of the other 71 winners to date have been colts, with the exception of Regret, the sole filly ever to win the big race— in 1915. v
