VERTNER acted badly at the gate, broke from outside the stalls, showed speed while setting the pace, but tired when challenged. JOY SWEEP was well up the entire Jrip. LADY ELSIE, hard hustled all the way, faltered in the drive. HILFAIR had no mishaps. MISS WHISKAWAY tired. ARNOLDS ACTOR unseated his rider leaving the paddock, ran away for a quarter of a mile and was never a factor. The latter was hustled into the lead soon after the start, saved ground throughout and held on with good courage. JUIBLEE JIM was under pressure to keep up and tired in the final stages. DIXIE BOOT tired when put to pressure in the final quarter. SMOOTH lost ground improving its position and tired in the stretch.
