Won easily; second and third driving. - PARALLEL began nicely, withstood stout opposition from FINDON in the first half mile, drew clear entering the stretch and, continuing gamely, drew out nearing the finish. PICK OUT worked her way forward steadily ancf finished gamely, although unable to threaten the winner. GHOST QUEEN, forced to race on the outside after being outrun early, closed willingly under punishment. SOU FENG was prominent while saving ground and had no excuses. DON GOMEZ showed a good effort for half a mile. HIGH PALFFY lost a great deal of ground all the way. FINDON raced stoutly and close to the winner for a half mile, then tired. THE TRIUMVIR, forced to race on the inside in the deepest footing after entering the back stretch, was kept close to GREAT SHAKES, took a slight lead in the final half mile, then came away in the final eighth when taken off the trail. MADDENING, reserved back of the leaders until in full stride, finished with good courage but was held safe. GREAT SHAKES was strongly ridden all the way but was used up early and tired in the final test. SIR DEAN could not improve his position during the late stages. CHILHEE was timidly ridden and almost fell going to the first turn when he sprawled. BIRD LORE did not fancy the footing and was done early. Scratched 42158 Storm Angel, 106; 43218 Union, 106. The latter, outpaced for five-eighths, was guided very wide into the stretch and closed gamely. HAPPY TOM, slow to settle into his stride, bettered his position slowly and finished on the inside of the leaders. GREY HIP followed forwardly for five-clghths, then tired. GREY MAN was never dangerous. SCARA GLEN quit badly. FLYING MERCURY, starting slowly, began improving his position midway of the turn, raced through a wide opening when the leaders swung extremely wide entering the stretch and, wearing HAPPY HOST down, was going away at the end. BALANCED BUDGET held a contending position jn the early running, forced his way through tight quarters and finished courageously in the final drive. HAPPY HOST was vigorously ridden to wear down the leaders on the turn, was taken out into firmer footing entering the stretch, but was made too much use of early and tired. WEDDING RING was hurried along from the start and had no excuses. FORGET NOT was carried wide into the stretch when racing stoutly. BROAD-STEP was away tardy and was too far out of contention to be troublesome. SWIFT QUEEN was done after leaving the back stretch. EDDIE C. quit. Won driving; second and third the same: DARK BEAU, reserved until nearing the final turn, went forward readily, drew clear in the stretch drive, bore out inside the final sixteenth to bump BEWITCHED lightly and barely lasted long enough. BEWITCHED propped back near the final turn, rallied to punishment and closed with a belated rush, but was forced out in the last fifty yards. A claim of foul was lodged but not allowed. FIRE PRINCE, badly outrun for seven-eighths, made a very wide turn into the stretch but finished fastest of all on the extreme outside. MR. PUNCANNON was steadied while setting the pace but was not good enough in the drive. LARGESS tired after going three-quarters. HARK could not untrack himself. BOBS BOYS moved up stoutly rounding the turn, closed with good courage but was unable to make up any ground in the final drive. JEAN LEE could not threaten at any stage but was best of the others.
