MID-DAY SUN WINS AGAIN Epsom Derby Victor Takes Hard-wicke Stakes Amefican-Bred Flares Disqualifed. Special Cablegram. ASCOT, England, June 18. The renewal of the Hardwicke Stakes, one mile and a half, here -today, feature of the final program of the fashionable Ascot meeting, was marked by the victory of Mrs. G. S. Millers Derby winner. Mid-day Sun, and the disqualification of the American-bred colt, William Woodwards Glares. Mid-day Sun, the 2 to 1 favorite in the five horse field, scored by a length and a half over Lord Astbrs Plaster Cast, with Flares finishing third, a head back. Flares was disqualified and Arthur Sainsburys William of Valence, 9 to 4, waj moved into that position. Flares jockey lodged a elaim of foul against Mid-day Sun, charging -that the Derby winner had interfered with his mount. The stewards refused to allow the claim, and then on their own initiative objected to Flares and disqualified him. No reason was given for the action.
