GOVERNOR SIGNS BILL j AUSTIN, Texas, June 18. The lower house of the Texas legislature appears to have finished its series of blue laws with the adoption of anti-dog racing and anti-bookmaking measures. The latter, carrying house amendments, goes back to the senate for concurrence. The penalties for violation range from one to five years in the penitentiary or from ten days to one year in jail and a fine of from 00 to ,000. Using six pens, while many of his legislative supporters looked on and cameras clicked, Governor Allred filially signed the mutuel betting repeal bill, a ceremony postponed until all leading advocates of the law could be present. j
