t SUFFOLK DOWNS TURF NOTES f 4 : 3 Mrs. H. C. Holcomb purchased Im So Dry Friday morning at private terms. The extensive string of Mrs. A. M. Creech will be shipped to Chicago at the close of the present meeting. Lee ODonnell telegraphed that he is shipping ine head, the property of the Tall Trees Stable, hom de course of Mrs. F. J. Navin, from Detroit to Rockingham. They are sched-i uled to leave the Motor City Monday. The Three Ds stable unloaded at Rockingham after an uneventful trip from Latonia. Heelfly is the star of the Texas-owned consignment. H. C. McGehee is shipping to Delaware Park at the close of the Boston meeting. He is leaving the handicap filly Fair Knightess in New England to. fulfill some stake engagements at Rockingham Park. Jockey Earl Steffen is coming up from New York to guide Endymion in the Faneuil Hall-Stakes Saturday. Paragon Stables will return to the Metropolitan circuit at the close of the Suffolk meeting. Jockey J. Deering returned here after having spent several days with his parents in Detroit. Eddie Pollard, custodian of the jockeys room at Dufferin, reports no dearth of riding material for. the meeting which. opens on Saturday. Those lads who have signified their intentions of riding at the half-mile track include C. McTague, R. Johnstone, G. Courtney, P. Remillard, J. McTague, F. McTague, R. J. Fisher, G. Watson, H. Peden, N. Foden, F. Vallee, T. Aimers, H. Osborne, R. Duggan, H. Murray, F. Collins, J. Mann, E. T. Moore, E. McDougall, T. Barker and E. Primrose. A flagman will be stationed opposite the grandstand to advise the public whether a start has been declared official or not. Jack Thorpe, trainer of- the Seagram establishment, intends to race three or four of his charges here before shipping the entire string to the Hamilton Jockey Club. Edwin Allan and R. W. Hewittson, who acted as steward and placing judge, respectively, at Long Branch, will exchange positions at Dufferin. The pair of officials alternated in the same capacities last season. After an absence of two weeks from the saddle due to sickness, jockey Harry Peden resumed riding at Dufferin on Saturday. The Empress Stable disposed of the Canadian-bred Gold Flake and Crystal Beach to W. Kitts. The latter also purchased Princely Pal from Arthur Brent. The trio have been shipped to Montreal for a campaign on the Quebec circuit.
