j ; MISS DORIS RIDGE MOR WINS Strong Stretch Ride by Bierman Factor in Victory Over Dreel at Suffolk Downs. BOSTON, Mass., June 18. Miss Anita Doris Ridge Mor, under a strong stretch ride from Bierman, drove up in the final twenty yards to defeat Danny Sullivans Dreel in the Waltham Claiming Purse, which featured the semi-final day of sport at Suffolk Downs. The winner did all his running in the final sixteenth of a mile and out-gamed the Sullivan campaigner in the final strides of the race to score by half a length. Mrs. C. E. Allens Ipso Facto was a distant third, two lengths back of the runner-up. Blue Armor finished fourth. The track, slow early, had worked itself into a condition termed good at the end of the fourth. race, but a hard downpour that came up just as the horses were parading to the barrier caused the footing to be sloppy. The race was run in 1:13. My Colin went away from the gate very fast and showed the way down the back stretch to Ipso Facto, with Dreel rated a close third on the outside by Hightshoe. The latter moved up rapidly as they went to the far turn and was just a neck off the leader as they made the turn. He took command before they had straightened out, coming to the eighth post with an advantage of more than a length. He appeared a fresh and free-running horse at this stage and looked all over the winner. He remained in command by daylight until well past the sixteenth post. There Bierman went to work on Ridge Mor and the latter responded gallantly, sweeping up from fourth place to take the sprint drawing away. Ipso Facto was out in the pace from the start, but could not menace the leaders. My Colin quit to next to last place in the ten-horse field after setting the early pace. ,No other horse was ever seriously contending. The weather was unpleasantly sultry and j threatening alL afternoon. Despite this fact 14,000 fans were on hand. I ;
