t i I ; j ; i SOBRIETY ENTERED AT OMAHA Hunt, Beezley, Boeing Star Named for American Legion Handicap Track Labeled Good. OMAHA, Neb., June 18. Sobriety, outstanding handicap horse, will make his first appearance in many months when he goes to the post in the American Legion Handicap, feature race at Ak-Sar-Ben Field Saturday. The colt, which was purchased by Hunt, Beezley and Boeing last winter for a reported price of over 0,000, has been working well, recently turning five furlongs in :59. Coupled with Sobriety are the good three-year-old Rockwood and the useful plater Balkan Land. It was very warm at Ak-Sar-Ben Friday afternoon, but, nevertheless, a good crowd was out and the track, which had dried out considerably overnight, was labeled good. The well-backed Hope Banquet came from last place in a field of nine in the opener to j beat Lady Banner by a head. Lady Banner set the pace, but tired near the end and Hope Banquet staged a strong stretch run. Burlington Bill was third. The race, was for Nebraska-breds. The first disqualification of the meeting came, about when Who Said, after finishing second in the second race, was set back for interfering with Elizabeth T. Who Said -set the pace, but carried Elizabeth T. very wide in the stretch. Elizabeth T. might have won but for the trouble. She was placed second and Who Said was placed third. Bess Cot was the winner. , ! : ! ;
