BLUE BONNETS RACING BEGINS J - V, . - f Montreal Jockey Club Track Opens l Quebec Racing Season With Fourteen-Day Meetingi v:. MONTREAL, Que., June 18. Blue Bod nets, palatial home of the Montreal Jockey Club, inaugurates the Quebec racing- season" of seventy days here tomorrow with the i opening of their fourteen days meeting. Blue. Bonnets, Quebecs premier course", has been entirely renovated and the spacious plant has been given a new coat of paint from entrance to the stables. The course, which is entirely surrounded by large and beautiful trees, and the spacious paddock J and club enclosure, with its shrubbery and lawn, shows the tireless efforts of resident manager Edgar Vermet. The management has announced that all races through the field will be for 400 or more, and a race will be staged each day If the response warrants. Racing will be under the supervision of Richard Leigh, prominent official, who will act as presiding steward representing the Province of Quebec Racing Associations. Lester R. Doyle, who replaced Julius Reeder as racing secretary in the final meetings last season, has. been reappointed. The placing judges are E. W. Ferguson and W. J. Morrison, and Mr. Doyle will replace Louis Larivee, who was forced to resign through ill health. Walter Richey, who has served as starter with great satisfaction lor the past three years, will again send the fields on their way. Racing secretary Doyle has arranged a splendid opening card with the revival of the Connaught Cup, a Canadian-foaled event over the mile and one furlong distance.
