I DETROIT TURF NOTES f Jockey B. Thornton arrived from Agua Caliente and will remain for the balance of the meeting. Charles Kurtsinger, of Twenty Grand and War Admiral fame, will arrive here Saturday to ride one of the Mrs. E. Denemark representatives in the Wolverine Handicap. Jockey J. Bryson, who was formerly under contract to the Bomar Stable, checked in from Long Branch and reported to Frank Ray, who took over Tempestuous and two others to train for Mrs. Tom Stevenson. Emerson Davis, who was recently restored to good standing by the New York Racing Commission, brought Connie Smythes Shoe-I less Joe and Ocala from Lexington. The pair were turned over to trainer W. E. Coburn. H. C. Eldridges Dependent, which recently arrived from Beulah Park, was, turned over to J. W. Murphy to train. When the Horsemens Relief Association of Detroit was notified of the injury of Otto Bagley and his wife and that they were in the hospital at Michigan City, its staff immediately got busy and contacted Mr. Bagley offering any possible assistance that it could give to lighten the burden of his injury. Under the charter of the association, horsemen who are on their way to participate in the racing here, come within the purview of the association, where any aid can be given. Norman Miller, track superintendent, received a telegram from Dan Stewart stating that he was shipping On Delivery, the prop-perty of Joseph E. Widener, and Employer, the property of Mrs. P. A. B. Widener, tomorrow morning to run in the Moslem Temple Stakes next Wednesday.
